Home advantage key for Hornets

Watford welcome Wolves to Vicarage Road on Saturday and a home win at a big price has a chance in this match-up.

Wolves are one of two Premier League teams yet to score in the league this season, the other being Arsenal, and despite a spirited performance in defeat to Manchester United before the international break they could be in line for more misery here.

Watford have a perfect record at home this term after beating Aston Villa in their opener before claiming an EFL Cup win over Crystal Palace.  

Wolves have been putting in some decent displays under new boss Bruno Lage but results just haven’t matched those performances and they’ve lost all three of their games 1-0.  Wanderers may expect a result at Watford, but the Hornets home form suggests the promoted side can take the spoils here to me.

Goals likely to be in short supply

As mentioned above, Wolves have lost all of their games 1-0 and that pattern could well continue on Saturday.  The Molineux club have been fairly strong defensively and all of their opponents so far have been quality teams, with Leicester and Spurs also getting the better of Lage’s men.

Watford have now won their last 11 competitive home games stretching way back into last season and nine of those victories have been accompanied by clean sheets.  Wolves are also missing their main goal threat as Raul Jimenez is unavailable due to quarantine issues, so a 1-0 win for the hosts looks a strong option in the correct score market given Wolves’ lack of a cutting edge.

Sarr could be Watford’s danger man

Ismaila Sarr scored in Watford’s win over Aston Villa and was also on target for national side Senegal during the international break.  The 23-year-old managed his most productive campaign to date last season with 13 goals in 39 games in the Championship and looks a contender for an anytime goal this weekend.
