Barnsley vs Barrow Predictions
- There have been fewer than three goals in Barnsley’s last four outings
- Only one of Barrow’s last 11 games has contained three or more goals
- Barnsley are without a win in eight matches
Barnsley’s attentions lie elsewhere?
After finishing in the Championship play-offs last year, this season has been a real struggle for Barnsley. They are eight points from safety in the league, and may well rest players for more important games that lie ahead.
New manager Poya Asbaghi is yet to win in six fixtures, drawing half of those games, while the Tykes have also failed to score three times under his leadership.
They have also suffered their fair share of shocks in recent years, losing to Non League Altrincham in 2015 and League One outfit Coventry in 2014.
Barrow to pull off an upset?
Mark Cooper has not quite had the success he might have expected at Barrow yet, but they have managed to keep things relatively tight in defence.
The Cumbrian outfit have kept four clean sheets in their last seven games, while staggeringly the 2-1 defeat to Bradford on Saturday was their first fixture with three or more goals since November.
When it comes to their away form, the outlook is not great for the Bluebirds, who have failed to score in each of their last five matches.
Neither of these sides come into this game in any kind of form and both are struggling in front of goal, so I predict there will be fewer than three goals in the match.
Given Barnsley may well rest players though as the they focus on their battle against relegation from the Championship, I think there could be an upset, so select 1-0 t o Barrow as a correct score.
