Bastia vs Metz Predictions, Betting Tips and Match Previews

Bastia and Metz square off against each other at Stade Armand Cesari on Saturday evening and both sides will be looking to overcome heavy defeats suffered in Ligue 1 last weekend.

Hosts Bastia were mauled 5-0 at Monaco whilst Metz were soundly beaten 4-0 at Nancy and this could be a nervy affair as the teams seek to steady the ship with just two rounds of fixtures to go before the winter break.

Bastia are arguably in more need of a result as they currently sit 18^th and in the relegation play-off spot following a dreadful run of seven games without a win.

Boss Francois Ciccolini could find himself out of a job at Christmas unless Bastia manage to land three points here and despite their recent form, the Corsicans are priced up as 10/11 to come out on top this Saturday night.

Those odds look way too short given their current circumstances and although they’ve beaten Metz in four of the last five meetings between the teams, they’ve only won two of their eight home matches this season.

So considering Bastia have drawn 50% of their home matches this term and Metz have the same ratio of stalemates away, a draw seems the obvious choice here at 23/10.

And whilst it would not surprise were this encounter to end goalless, we feel that a 1-1 final score is the most likely outcome at odds of 11/2.
