Bayern Munich

      Tip Reasoning

Bayern Munich’s 3-0 victory over Darmstadt on Saturday saw them extend their 100% record in the Bundesliga. Goals from Arturo Vidal, Kingsley Coman, and Sebastian Rode took their points tally to 15 points from their opening five games.

It was an incredibly comfortable victory from the Bundesliga champions, with them holding over 75% of possession and limiting Darmstadt to four attempts on goal compared to their 14 shots.

They’re attacking record is excellent so far, with 21 goals in their seven competitive games so far this season, and Manuel Neuer has only conceded three times.

But despite their excellent record so far, they aren’t running away with the Bundesliga top spot. Borussia Dortmund also hold a perfect record so far, and generally have been better going forward than the Bundesliga champions.

Wolfsburg, after coming in an impressive 2nd position in the league last season, have seen themselves drop four points already this season.

Their draws away to Ingolstadt and Cologne leave them in 3rd position with 11 points from their five games so far. But a win on Tuesday would see them move to within a point of Bayern Munich.

They weren’t convincing against Hertha Berlin on Saturday either. They took until the 76th minute to break the deadlock, but a quickfire double from Bas Dost made the result look a lot better than the performance merited.

They may have replaced Kevin De Bruyne with the highly rated Julian Draxler, but they are really struggling without the talented Belgian playmaker that they relied on so much last term.

Wolfsburg managed to take the German Super Cup off Bayern Munich at the beginning of this season, with a 1-1 draw leading to Wolfsburg winning on penalties.

They also beat the champions at home in the league last season, but before that had lost nine on the trot against the German giants.

The story is even worse for Wolfsburg when they travel to Munich. They have never won away from home against Bayern Munich, and have lost 20 of the 21 matches they have played there.

Considering this record and the fact that Wolfsburg are struggling a bit at the moment, odds of 3/10 for a Bayern Munich win actually look like good value. But the better value lies in a Bayern Munich -1 Handicap Win at odds of 4/5.
