Belshina Bobruisk vs FK Gorodeya Predictions

  • Gorodeya sit bottom of the Belarusian Premier League, losing both games so far and failing to score a single goal.
  • Belshina won five of their final six home league games at the end of last season, getting promoted from the second flight in the process.
  • Gorodeya’s last two away league games have both ended in 1-0 defeats.

Newly promoted Belshina look for first Premier League points

Belshina Bobruisk, fresh from their promotion back to the Belarusian Premier League, have had a tough time of things so far. Their opening two fixtures have both ended in defeat, although Belshina fans will be quick to point out the difficult nature of their opening rounds.

They opened with a 3-1 defeat at home to a Minsk side that have since put three past arch rivals Dinamo Minsk, and their outing last weekend resulted in a narrow 1-0 loss to Torpedo BelAZ, who are looking good value to break into the top four this term.

Friday afternoon offers up a more winnable fixture for Belshina as they face off against a visiting side enduring an equally difficult start to their campaign.

Goalshy Gorodeya struggle in opening exchanges

Like their opponents, FK Gorodeya are yet to pick up a point from their two Belarusian Premier League outings, leaving them rock bottom of the table as we head into gameweek three.

Gorodeya’s losses to Vitebsk and Shakhtyor offered very little in the way of encouragement for the rest of the season, with the visitors failing to find the net in either of those games and having only two shots on goal in their hosting of Shakhtyor last time out.

The opening day defeat away to Vitebsk is particularly telling though – Vitebsk finished just a point above the relegation playoff position last season and definitely can’t be classed as strong opponents, so Belshina will feel they have a real chance coming into this match.

Visitors set to remain pointless

While it was in the second tier, Belshina were almost unstoppable on home soil towards the end of last season. They won five of their last six home league games, and considering Gorodeya’s dreadful start to the campaign we think backing Belshina Bobruisk Draw No Bet is a good option.

As far as the correct score prediction goes, Gorodeya’s lack of goals this season point towards a clean sheet for the hosts. The visitors’ last two away league games have ended in 1-0 defeats as well, and with Belshina also struggling in front of goal a repeat of that scoreline looks likely.
