An exciting quarter final matchup

The only all-Bundesliga clash at the quarter final stage of the DFB Pokal sees Bochum and Freiburg come head-to-head for the second time this season at the Ruhrstadion, the last meeting here ending in a 2-1 victory for the hosts.

Even with a win in the latest league H2H, Bochum are enduring a middling campaign while visiting Freiburg are fighting for a European finish. The hosts did however beat Bayern Munich recently by a walloping 4-2 scoreline, something they would love to replicate in this clash.

Freiburg are currently enjoying a better Bundesliga campaign in terms of points on the board at this stage in over a decade, they are seeking a first European involvement since 2017/18 and this could be the perfect opportunity to do that, via a cup win.

Away games have often been exciting affairs where Freiburg are concerned, with their Bundesliga trips averaging 2.7 total goals per-game this term, suggesting this could be yet another exciting clash between two top-flight outfits.

I am going with over 2.5 goals as the main prediction in this game, while I think Freiburg should have enough in the locker to edge out a narrow 2-1 victory in the correct score market.
