      Bristol City to Win

      Reason for tip

Bristol City are looking to collect their first league win of the season against Portsmouth and they may be solid enough to see off a Pompey side who have conceded seven goals in their opening three matches of the campaign.

      Bristol City 3-1

      Reason for tip

Both teams have scored in all of Portsmouth’s three matches this season and all of those games have gone over 3.5 goals. Bristol City were involved in a thrilling 2-2 draw with Birmingham last weekend and the Robins can win a high-scoring contest.

      Bristol City vs Portsmouth Predictions

      • There have been 12 goals in Portsmouth’s three matches this season
      • All of Portsmouth’s three games this season have gone over 3.5 goals
      • Portsmouth conceded an expected goals figure of 2.32 at Lincoln last weekend

Robins ready to call the tune

It has been one extreme to the other for Portsmouth this season, who lost 3-1 to QPR in their opening Championship contest of the season, but they bounced back to beat Lincoln 3-1 at Sincil Bank last weekend.

However, there are some major defensive concerns for John Mousinho’s men.

Pompey conceded four goals in their opening two second-tier games and they also allowed three strikes when losing 3-1 at West Ham in the first round of the EFL Cup.

Portsmouth were good 3-1 winners at Lincoln, but that performance did little to ease the defensive concerns.

The south coast side conceded an expected goals total of 2.32 at Sincil Bank last weekend, and in truth, Portsmouth were fortunate to win that contest 3-1.

Bristol City were beaten 2-0 by Millwall before drawing 2-2 at Birmingham in their opening two league matches.

Adam Randell’s red card took the game away from the Robins when they were stuffed by Millwall, but Michael Skubala’s men are fancied to collect their first win of the Championship season against Portsmouth.
