Herons have the firwepower to shake Montreal 

Inter Miami should have too much firepower for CF Montreal as the Herons return to MLS action on Sunday after their Club World Cup exploits.

Javier Mascherano’s men return with their tails between their legs after a 4-0 whipping by Paris Saint-Germain in the last-16, but they can take out some of their frustrations against a porous Montreal backline.

Marco Donadel’s are languishing at the foot of the Eastern Conference with only 14 points from 20 games, although they don’t look to be giving up on reaching the playoffs.

Suarez can pick up where he left off in MLS

L’Impact have won two of their last three matches to move within 14 points of the top nine and somehow managed to keep a rare clean sheet in last week’s 1-0 home win over NYCFC.

The Pigeons were without four key players for the clash, however, and the Herons are likely to be much closer to full strength for this one. Lionel Messi’s recent social media posts suggest he is not going to skip this one, so it could be a tough day for the Montreal defenders.

Luis Suarez may be the better bet to grab a goal, however, amid a hot spell for the Uruguayan striker. He has scored three goals in his last two MLS games and can ensure that Inter Miami get on the scoresheet twice – as they have done in five of their last seven matches in all competitions.
