Colchester United vs Blackpool Predictions

Colchester showed no lack of confidence following their relegation and started the season in excellent fashion with a draw and two wins in their three opening fixtures. Since then, however, it’s been a bit more tricky and, after last weeks 3-2 home defeat against Exeter City, they currently sit just outside the play-offs in eighth place. That run of form has been enough to make people sit up and take notice as manager John McGreal has been nominated for the Sky Bet League Two Manager of the Month Award for August. After an excellent start to the season winger Brennan Dickenson has also been nominated, he’s in for the Player of the Month award.

Blackpool have had an inconsistent start to the season and although they got up and running on the opening day with a win, they,ve struggled to find their form since then. Last Saturday, however, they turned in perhaps their best performance of the season to date and put an out of form Yeovil Town to the sword with a 3-0 win. The Seasiders have struggled with a depleted squad, especially up front, but with many of their strikers returning to fitness they may yet be a force in the league.

We think Colchester should have enough to grab the win and are tempted by odds of 11/8 but, given that they’ve scored in every one of their home games so far and Blackpool have scored in all of their away games, we’re going to tip both teams to score. This is available at 4/6 with bet365 and for our correct score tip we are going to back a 2-1 home win at 17/2 with the same site.
