Colorado Rapids vs Toronto FC Predictions

Colorado Rapids finished last season rock bottom of the MLS Western Conference having picked up just over a point per game throughout the season, and it looked like it might be going the same way this season when they kicked the campaign off with a 1-0 defeat to San Jose Earthquakes.

However, they followed this up with a win over the star studded LA Galaxy thanks to a 95th minute goal and then narrowly missed out on beating DC United thanks to a late equaliser for the opposition.

They certainly aren’t the most entertaining team to watch, as a grand total of four goals scored in their opening three matches suggests, but it does seem like they are managing to slowly improve after last season’s poor showing.

Toronto FC kicked their season off with an impressive 2-0 win over Supporters’ Shield holders New York Red Bulls, but it’s all been downhill since then. They played out a thrilling 2-2 draw with New York City, showing determination and belief by coming back from a two goal deficit.

This determination and belief was sadly lacking in their last game when Brad Davis settled a drab game by grabbing the winner in Toronto FC’s 1-0 defeat to San Jose Earthquakes.

Neither team have been particularly good in front of goal recently, and only one of their combined six matches so far this season have resulted in three or more goals. Toronto FC have only scored six goals in their last eight away games and Colorado Rapids aren’t doing much better, and have scored just twice this season.

This makes odds of 4/5 for Under 2.5 Goals look very attractive indeed, and a 1-0 win for Colorado Rapids looks equally as good at 7/1.
