Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Both teams have scored in all three of Malaga’s league games and they have hit five goals themselves. Cordoba are yet to keep a clean sheet in three attempts but have scored in two of those games. With both defences looking vulnerable, backing both teams to score appeals here.

Malaga 2-1

Reason for tip

Of these two promoted sides, it is Malaga who have made the brighter start as they head to the Estadio Nuevo Arcángel unbeaten. The visitors can grind out a win here and, with goals at both ends likely, a 2-1 success for the visitors appeals.

Cordoba vs Malaga Predictions

  • Cordoba have just one point from three games.
  • Malaga are unbeaten (W1, D2).
  • Both teams are yet to keep a clean sheet.

Big test for Cordoba

Two promoted teams meet in Spain’s La Liga 2 on Saturday evening as Malaga make the trip to Cordoba.

The visitors have settled in well with five points from three games, while Cordoba could do with a boost after just one point from their opening three fixtures.

Cordoba did enjoy the better of the meetings last season in the third tier with four points but Malaga are the form team.

At a big price, I am tempted by an away win but the best option here is both teams to score.

There have been goals at both ends in all three of Malaga’s games and they’ve scored five themselves. Both teams have scored in two of Cordoba’s outings and they are yet to keep a clean sheet, and they showed a desire to fight to the death at Elche last time out with a last gasp consolation strike as they went down 3-1.

Malaga are clearly the team in form and a 2-1 win over Albacete last time out, their first league win of the season, should have given them a boost. They can build on that momentum and claim the spoils here courtesy of another 2-1 victory.
