Both teams to find the net in Prague

Czech Republic were hammered 4-1 by Georgia in their Nations League opener on Saturday but they could steady the ship back on home soil against Ukraine.

Things didn’t go much better for Ukraine who lost 2-1 at home to Albania at the weekend, and both of these sides look to be suffering from a Euro 2024 hangover.

Neither nation made it past the group stage in the summer extravaganza, although Ukraine were unfortunate not to make the knockout stages despite picking up four points from their three matches.

Their results featured a 0-0 draw with Belgium and they have enjoyed the better of things against the Czech Republic, going unbeaten in the last four meetings.

Whether they can prolong that sequence remains to be seen but they can at least get on the scoresheet on Tuesday.

Victory may be beyond out-of-sorts pair

Czech Republic have failed to win any of their last four matches and they were thoroughly outplayed by Georgia but Ukraine are hard to trust too.

They have won just two of their last seven outings, although they did perform well at Euro 2024 for little reward.

And while both sides are fancied to score in this clash, neither can be backed with much confidence to claim a victory so settling on a 1-1 draw looks a solid option.

The last meeting between these nations ended that way and a similar outcome looks likely this week.
