Genoa vs AC Milan Predictions

AC Milan claimed a huge win at the weekend, seeing off champions Juventus. That came straight after Genoa suffered an away defeat to Sampdoria. Now they have to prepare for a home game against the league’s most in form side. Can Genoa cause a shock, or will Milan’s winning run continue here?

The visitors know they can take top spot with a win on Tuesday, following their impressive 1-0 victory against Juventus. That lifted them up to second place in the table, just two points behind the reigning champions. That shows how great the seven time European champions have been this term. They’ve averaged 2.11 points per game so far, scoring 1.78 per match and winning 67% of their fixtures. That’s not a record Genoa can come close to, having won just one of their last six.

One thing these two share is a habit of scoring late goals, as they both struggle to get on the score sheet early. Milan have scored 75% of their goals this season in the second half of games. They’ve found the net just once in the first half in their away matches this season. Meanwhile, 73% of the goals they’ve conceded have also been after the half-time break.

As for Genoa, eight of their nine goals this season have been in the second half. In their matches at the Luigi Ferraris so far, there’s been no goals scored in the first half. It’s easy to see another 0-0 here at the break. We’re doubling that up with our 1-0 correct score tip. AC to score the only goal of the game in the second half is a 10/1 shot with bet365, it’s worth taking a look at.

Milan are looking to extend their strong run, having won five of their last six in Serie A. The hosts have won just 25% of their matches at home, with their last victory here coming on the opening day. AC are scoring an average of 1.5 goals per game on the road, and they’ve let in one in their last three away.

Given their impressive record outside of the San Siro, we’re backing Milan to claim the points here and leapfrog Juventus. Vincenzo Montella’s side are on a strong run, and we see that continuing against a side who are slipping down the table. Milan are great value to come out on top, they’re priced at 6/4 with bet365.
