Genoa vs Roma Predictions

Roma building some rhythm in Serie A

It has been far from an explosive start to the season from Roma but Jose Mourinho’s men should have enough in their locker to win away to Genoa on Thursday.

After a slow opening few weeks, Roma’s formed has picked up recently with the capital club marking their return from the international break with a 7-0 pummeling of Empoli in Serie A.

They then followed that with a hard-fought 2-1 win away to Sheriff Tiraspol in the Europa League group stage last Thursday before coming close to another win away to strong starters Torino.

Loanee Romelu Lukaku, who has been in good nick, scored for Roma in that contest in the second half but they were denied maximum points by Duvan Zapata’s 85th-minute equaliser.

With the exception of the Empoli match, killing games off has been a struggle for Roma but Thursday’s opponents Genoa have been poor.

Hosts Genoa struggling for form

Last Friday Genoa sustained their third league loss of the season, going down 1-0 away to Lecce and managing just a solitary shot on target.

Roma may not be imperious right now but they look in better shape than Genoa and are worth backing to win at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.

Goals have been at a premium for Genoa, who have lost two of their last three games 1-0, so that looks like the best correct score prediction.
