Gillingham vs Ipswich Predictions
- Gillingham have not won in their last ten matches
- Gillingham hold the worst home record in League One
- Ipswich unbeaten in their last three league matches
Sorry Gills set to fall short once more
Gillingham have endured a torrid time so far this season and boss Steve Evans is surely on borrowed time. No win in their last ten matches leaves the Gills sat in 22nd position in League One four points adrift from safety.
The Gills are particularly bad on home soil. Nine points from ten games at Priestfield this term sees them rooted to the bottom of the leagues home form table. Seven goals in those ten games makes for bleak reading for a side that, bar some serious January recruitment, look destined for the drop.
Much more optimism at Portman Road
Given last summers impressive recruitment, Ipswich fans were rightly optimistic about their chances of successful campaign. However, a disappointing start to the season saw manager Paul Cook shown the exit door and replaced by Kieran McKenna. Ipswich have seen a marked upturn in performances of late. Unbeaten in their last three league games in which they played three of the division’s top four teams.
This level of form provides Ipswich, who have already won at Priestfield this season when they ran out 2-0 winners in the EFL Trophy, cause for optimism going into the second half of the season. Ipswich will be full of confidence going into Saturday’s game and with the fans now back on side, they rank as one of the better bets this weekend.
