Hamilton to stamp authority on group

Hamilton have enjoyed their Scottish League Cup campaign so far, winning both of their games and topping Group E. They have beaten Edinburgh City (1-0) and Falkirk (2-1) to this point and will be keen to add another win to their tally in their bid to secure qualification from their group as early as possible.

Ayr lost their opening League Cup tie on penalties, with Albion picking up the victory following a 0-0 draw. The 3-0 win against Edinburgh that followed however restored some confidence to the Ayr group as they head into this game against the favourites to top the group.

Hamilton have won three of their last five games in all competitions and are, rightly, the favourites heading into the tie. Their odds of 8/11 still give a bit of value though and we’re backing them to pick up all three points in this tie. It should be a fairly tight game though and we don’t think it will be a convincing win for the hosts, instead a slender 1-0 victory to give them the three points.
