Hebei CFFC vs Guangzhou Evergrande Predictions & Betting Tips, Match Previews

Hebei CFFC were only formed back in 2010, but after making it to China League One in the 2014 season, they managed to earn promotion again last term to enter the Super League for the first time.

Their owners wasted no time in splashing the cash as they looked to fight their way up the increasingly competitive Chinese Super League. They brought in Gervinho, Stephane Mbia, Gael Kakuta, and Ersan Gulum in big money deals. This paid off at the start of the season as they lost just two of their opening 15 games in all competitions and won ten of them.

However, the wheels have started to come off for them. They recently went on a run of five defeats in a row in all competitions in which they didn’t score a single goal, and despite breaking out of this run in July they have reverted back to poor form. They come into this match having drawn two and lost two of their last four matches since that 2-1 win over ChiangChun Yatai.

This has seen Hebei CFFC drop down to 5th in the Super League table, with them being five points adrift of the top three and 15 points behind the leaders. These leaders happen to be Guangzhou Evergrande, but the leaders and current champions aren’t in the best spell of form either.

The visitors have also failed to win any of their last four matches, losing one and drawing three. That 2-1 defeat at Shanghai Shenhua was only their 3rd defeat of the season, and their excellent form up until recently means they are still in a strong position to retain their title. They have a six point cushion on Jiangsu Suning in 2nd position, but with seven games remaining in the league they need to start picking up victories again.

Hebei CFFC may have gone through a rough patch in front of goal recently, but they have started to bring it back. They will be happy to learn that Guangzhou Evergrande have conceded in each of their last five away matches as well.

The visitors attacking style generally results in a lot of goals too. Guangzhou Evergrande have seen at least three goals in nine of their last 12 away matches. Hebei CFFC have scored in 67% of their home games too, so odds of 11/10 for Over 2.5 Goals and Both Teams to Score look good value to me. I’m going for a 2-1 Guangzhou Evergrande victory as well at 7/1 for my correct score prediction.
