      Gent to Win

      Reason for tip

Gent dominated the first leg between the two sides and should have secured the victory, having won the shot count 10-2. However, they were wasteful in the final third and will learn their lessons for the second leg, with Hibs losing four of their last seven competitive matches at Easter Road.

      Gent 1-0

      Reason for tip

Under 2.5 goals has landed in Hibernian’s last three matches and in six of Gent’s last seven competitive ties. Hibernian have struggled to score in two of their last three, so it’s Gent that offer plenty of value to squeeze past their hosts in a tense affair.

      Hibernian vs Gent Predictions

      • Gent have yet to taste defeat this season after seven matches
      • Hibernian have lost four of their last seven competitive matches

Hibs to fall short at Easter Road

Hibernian will look to lean on home advantage when they welcome Gent to Easter Road in their Europa Conference League play-off tie.

David Gray’s troops showed plenty of heart as they secured a 0-0 draw in Belgium last week and like Gent, they were given the weekend off from their domestic duties in order to prepare for the second leg.

Gent were left frustrated after the first leg, having dominated the shot count 10-2, but only three of their efforts hit the target.

After an intense first leg, neither side will want to give each other an inch and the recent form of both teams suggests we are in for another nerve-racking affair.

Under 2.5 goals has landed in Hibs’ last three outings and in six of Gent’s seven competitive matches this season.

They have kept two clean sheets on the road already in Europe and have yet to lose away from home and they should be able to wrestle their way past a Hibernian side that has lost four of their last seven competitive games at Easter Road.
