Tigers recover from shaky start

Hull’s season got off to a rocky start as they lost their Championship opener and were knocked out of the Carabao Cup in the space of three days, but they have turned things around and should be able to live up to their favourites tag on Friday.

They bounced back from their Carabao Cup exit with a 4-2 win over Sheffield Wednesday and followed that with their first away win of the season last weekend, although they remain fragile at the back.

Liam Rosenior’s side are yet to keep a clean sheet this term, conceding seven goals in four games but equalling that tally with seven at the other end.

Goals at both ends expected

Bristol City started their campaign with two wins and a draw from three competitive games but fell to their first loss of the season last weekend at home to Birmingham.

The visitors have only kept one clean sheet in four games so far but, like their hosts, have scored seven goals across this quartet of matches.

Hull won this fixture 2-1 last season and I expect a similar outcome. Both teams to score appeals as a main tip, while a repeat of Hull’s 2-1 win last weekend is attractive as a correct score option.

Aaron Connolly is worth a mention in the anytime goalscorer market, too. The 23-year-old has scored three goals in his last two appearances from the bench for Hull, averaging a goal every 12 minutes. He has surely done enough to push his way into the starting lineup and could punish the Robins.
