Inter Milan vs Spezia Predictions
- Inter have scored three or more goals in five of their last six competitive matches.
- Inter scored 48 goals in 19 home Serie A matches last season, averaging 2.53 strikes per game.
- Spezia, meanwhile, conceded 41 times on the road last term, averaging 2.16 goals against per game on their travels.
- The Nerazzurri have scored 16 goals in their last five league matches.
Inter start with a win… just
Inter were predicted by many to enjoy a comfortable outing when they visited Lecce on the opening day, but despite dominating for long periods, Simone Inzaghi’s men needed a last-gasp Denzel Dumfries goal to snatch a 2-1 win. Spezia were among Serie A’s most porous outfits last season, meanwhile, and their visit should offer the Nerazzurri hope of a more convincing performance.
Indeed, Inter missed out on the title last term, but their total of 84 goals gave them Serie A’s best attacking record by some distance, and they averaged over 2.5 goals per game across their 19 home league outings. Inter have scored 16 goals in their last five competitive matches, and Romelu Lukaku’s terrific start to life after returning to Serie A – he required just 82 seconds to score at Lecce – should give them confidence of maintaining their fine offensive returns this campaign.
Spezia shipped 78 goals in Serie A last season, although they began the Luca Gotti era with a 1-0 win over Empoli last time out. The Aquilotti did, however, lose both games against Inter last term, shipping five goals in the process, and averaged over two goals against per game on the road throughout last season. With each of Inter’s last 10 competitive matches containing over 2.5 goals, Spezia may be in for a difficult outing at San Siro.
Nerazzurri should hit goal trail
While Inter did not produce a vintage performance at Lecce, they ended the contest having managed 20 shots and with Lukaku, Lautaro Martinez and Edin Dzeko all on the pitch as they pushed for a winner.
Considering Inter’s firepower and brilliant record at San Siro, where they managed 14 wins from 19 league matches last term, backing them to hit the net three times against the porous visitors – as they have in five of their last six competitive games – could be a smart play.
Meanwhile, a 3-1 home win could represent a good value correct score prediction, with Inter only keeping one clean sheet in their last eight league matches.
