Liverpool enjoyed yet another famous European evening at Anfield on Thursday as they comprehensively beat Villarreal 3-0 to overturn the one goal deficit from the first leg and progress on to the Europa League final. They will now look forward to a trip to Switzerland at a few weeks time to face Sevilla, the most successful team in Europa League history.

this 3-0 win ended a run of three winless matches for Liverpool where they lost to Villarreal and Swansea after drawing 2-2 with Newcastle at Anfield.

Despite this blip in form they are still in with a chance of finishing in the top six this season. They are two points behind Southampton and four behind West Ham, but they do have a game in hand over the Saints.

Watford managed to get back to winning ways last weekend when their talisman Troy Deeney notched two late goals to come from a goal behind against Aston Villa. This resigned the hosts to their 11th straight defeat and made it two wins, one draw, and two defeats in Watford’s last five games.

The Hornets are still in a comfortable mid-table position, but a few good results in their final few games of the season could lift them as high as 9th in the table.

Compared to the first half of the season, Watford’s form recently has been unspectacular at best. However, they have managed to get on the scoresheet regularly, with just one of their last eight matches ending with them failing to score. They have only kept one clean sheet during this period though, which has resulted in six of the eight games having at least three goals.

Liverpool have only kept two clean sheets in their last eight outings as well, with them scoring in seven of the matches and seeing six of them end with more than two goals in total. This makes odds of 21/20 for Over 2.5 Goals and Both Teams to Score look very good value. I’m also backing a 3-1 win for Liverpool after their impressive performance on Thursday.
