MLS Predictions
Thursday 17th July
See AllOvernight MLS Mega Accumulator Tip
This should be a close game but Inter Miami are the form team with five consecutive MLS wins, while Cincinnati have been dropping points at home with two losses in their last three games at TQL Stadium. The visitors’ form and the fact Lionel Messi is in the middle of a scoring streak suggests Inter Miami can claim the points here.
Minnesota should be backed to beat LAFC, having scored 23 goals in 11 home games and sitting eight points above their visitors. They’ve won four of their last six MLS matches and face an LAFC side without a win in six away games, conceding 18 goals in eight road fixtures this season.
Atlanta United can be backed to beat Chicago Fire at home, having won their last two MLS games at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Despite being nine points behind Chicago, Atlanta face a side that have lost four of their last five matches and conceded in ten consecutive MLS fixtures.
Montreal’s defensive issues and Philadelphia Union’s attacking strength suggest both teams will score. Montreal have netted in 11 of their last 12 MLS games, while Philadelphia have scored twice or more in 12 of 22 matches. Ten of the last 11 MLS meetings between these sides have also seen both teams find the net.
Six of Houston Dynamo’s last nine games have featured at least four goals and given Vancouver have been conceding at an alarming rate of late, this could be a high-scoring contest. It is also worth noting that three of the last four meetings between these sides have gone over the 3.5 goal mark.
Portland should be backed to beat Real Salt Lake, having gone ten home MLS games unbeaten and winning four of their last six at Providence Park. They sit eight points above their visitors, who have failed to win in six straight away matches and are without a clean sheet in 11 road trips this season.
Overnight MLS Accumulator Tip
Lionel Messi has scored more than one goal in a record five consecutive MLS games for Inter Miami. He should be able to keep his scoring run going, even if his run of multiple goals ends, with an anytime effort at Cincinnati.
Charlotte are unbeaten in three at home (W2, D1) and their form at the Bank of America Stadium has been solid all season with seven wins and two defeats in 10 games. They should be able to overcome this out-of-sorts DC United side, who have five defeats in their last six games.

Given the size of the US, weather conditions and therefore playing styles vary greatly from team to team. Who has won the MLS Cup most often?
The MLS Cup is played between the winners of the Eastern Conference and Western Conference. LA Galaxy and New York Cosmos have won the league championship most often with five wins each. They are followed by DC United on four titles.
