Nantes vs Toulouse Predictions

Goals could be at a premium when Nantes host Toulouse in Ligue 1 on Sunday, and under 2.5 goals looks the best bet. The last match between these sides had four goals but the two meetings last season both had under 2.5 goals.

Toulouse are seven places and 21 points above Nantes in the table, but both teams have lost more games than they’ve won this season. Nantes sit 17th with just five wins and 20 defeats, while Toulouse are tenth with 12 wins and 13 losses.

Nantes have scored an average of just 0.80 goals a game in their 15 Ligue 1 games against other bottom-half teams this season, while Toulouse have kept seven clean sheets in those matches and have conceded an average of just 0.80 goals a game. However, they have failed to win five of their nine games against teams in the bottom five.

Nantes haven’t been getting many wins lately, recording only one victory in their last ten games in Ligue 1, but they are unbeaten in seven of their last eight meetings with these opponents. However, Toulouse’s form has also been inconsistent, with two wins, one draw and three defeats in their last six games. They beat Strasbourg 2-1 in their last away game two weeks ago.

It could be hard to separate these two sides, with the 1-1 draw looking a decent correct-score bet. Both teams have scored in six of Toulouse’s last eight Ligue 1 matches.
