Newcastle vs West Brom Betting Tips

Newcastle’s spending spree in January hasn’t yielded any results quite yet, and it’s looking like their host of new arrivals will take a while to gel into the team.

Their 3-0 loss to Everton on Wednesday made it three defeats, one win, and one draw in their last five matches in all competitions.

It doesn’t get much better when you look at their longer term form record either. They have only won one of their last nine matches and have lost six times during this period.

This leaves them just inside the Premier League relegation zone in 18^th position, with two points sitting between them and the safety of Norwich’s position above.

West Brom currently have eight more points than their hosts on Saturday and sit in a mediocre but ultimately expected 14^th position in the Premier League.

Their major issue this season has been securing wins and finishing off games. They have only won one of their last seven matches in all competitions, but to be fair to them they’ve only been defeated once too.

This run does include poor draws against both Bristol City and Peterborough United in the FA Cup as well, and it generally looks like Tony Pulis’ men don’t know how to win matches.

But this trip to St James’ Park will present a real opportunity for West Brom to get a win. Newcastle have lost 13 of their 25 league matches so far this season and have only beaten West Brom once in their last four attempts.

I think West Brom can avoid defeat again against the out of form relegation candidates on Saturday, and odds of 8/11 for a West Brom Win or Draw Double Chance look good value for money. I don’t think the Baggies will take all three points though, so a 1-1 correct score prediction at 11/2 looks good to me too.
