- Nice are unbeaten in their last seven home meetings with Montpellier.
- Montpellier have drawn six of their last seven matches in Ligue 1.
- The visitors have drawn the most away games in Ligue 1 this season (8).
Mid-table pair set for stalemate
Nice have struggled for consistency all season, with their most recent four-match unbeaten run across all competitions being ended following a surprise 2-0 defeat at bottom club Dijon last time out.
Montpellier’s form has been a lot more predictable, with La Paillade having drawn six of their last seven games in Ligue 1.
Indeed, Michel Der Zakarian’s side would be a lot closer to the European places had they been able to turn some of those draws into wins, as they are currently on an 11-match unbeaten run in Ligue 1.
Draws have been particularly frequent on the road for Montpellier, as their tally of eight away draws is the most of any side in the French top-flight this season.
Nice will certainly have their work cut out trying to contain Montpellier on Sunday, but Adrian Ursea’s team do at least have recent history on their side, as they are unbeaten in their last seven home meetings with MHSC.
We are predicting that record to be extended on Sunday, but given Montpellier’s recent love of drawing games, our overall prediction is for a share of the spoils at the Allianz Riviera.
