RB Leipzig vs Bayern Munich predictions for this weekend’s German Bundesliga. RB Leipzig look to remain the only side with a 100% record when they host reigning champions Bayern Munich at the Red Bull Arena on Saturday evening. Read on for our free betting tips and match preview.

Reason For RB Leipzig vs Bayern Munich Predictions

Julian Nagelsmann maintained his perfect start as manager of RB Leipzig with a 3-1 win over Borussia Monchengladbach last time out. Timo Werner, who signed a new four-contract at the end of August, couldn’t have proved his commitment to the club more than by scoring all three of those goals – his first-ever hat-trick and the third consecutive game on the score-sheet.

Werner will partner Danish forward Yussef Poulsen up front – he was the Red Bulls’ second top scorer last season (15 goals). Neither player managed to score against giants Bayern Munich last year but they have every reason to be more positive this time around – coach Nagelsmann won two and drew one of his first three Bundesliga games against Bayern as Hoffenheim coach.

Bayern Munich let out their frustration of being held to a 2-2 draw against Hertha Berlin in their 19/20 opener at the Allianz Arena by scoring six more there against Mainz 05 just before the international break. Robert Lewandowski, the man Timo Werner will be chasing in the Golden Boot race, may have scored just one of these, but his hat-trick and brace in the games prior shows he’s equally dangerous.

New arrivals Philippe Coutinho, who is on a season-long loan from Barcelona, and Ivan Perisic, on loan from Inter Milan, made their first starts for the club in that game, with the former being one of six names on the score-sheet in that massive 6-1 win. Alongside Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman, the four should be able to help fill the void left by the summer departures of Robben, Ribery and James Rodriguez.

And it’s Kovac’s men that go into this as favourites, despite Leipzig being the only team to have won each of their opening three games. Notably, in the three years since Leipzig were promoted to the Bundesliga, they have lost just one of their three league games at home to Bayern Munich (W1 D1 L1), meaning backing them ‘double chance’ (win or draw) looks an interesting place to start.

Leipzig have lost just one of their last 19 matches at home (W12 D6 L1), which includes May’s 0-0 draw at home to Bayern Munich, which shows the Red Bull Arena is no easy place to travel to, even for the Bundesliga’s stronger sides. And with Bayern Munich winning just two of their last five on the road in the Bundesliga (W2 D3), we feel there is value in RB Leipzig getting something from this game.

Bayern Munich have, however, failed to score in just one of their prior meetings with RB Leipzig, and it will be a tough ask to keep the reigning champions from scoring, even if the Red Bulls hold the strongest defense in the league. Leipzig should be able to keep them under control, though, and their own attack should be able to match them stride for stride. As such, we’re backing a 1-1 draw between RB Leipzig and Bayern Munich.
