Reading vs Preston Betting Tips & Predictions

This game isn’t of great significance to anyone with the season winding down to an unspectacular climax for both. Preston have far the more reason to be pleased with their efforts this term though. They are still in the top half having been tipped to struggle but a 5 match winless run is just taking the gloss off things very slightly and they’ll be keen to chalk up another victory here or next week to end what has been an excellent campaign from Simon Grayson’s men on a positive note.

Reading haven’t had a great season and they aren’t in great form so there isn’t an enormous about of room for optimism in their camp. They did end a 4 game losing streak last time out when they drew 1-1 at QPR and could still finish anywhere between 12th and 21st so a decent return from these final 2 games is still something they’d really like just to add a touch more respectability to their campaign and give them a bit of confidence going into the summer and ultimately next season.

With both sides having failed to win since the opening week of April and not playing their best football right now it’s hard to feel good about either side’s chances of picking up all 3 points here. There should be goals though. Both teams have netted in all of Reading’s last 4 games and in 6 of Preston’s last 8. Both teams may experiment a little given there isn’t much at stake so it’s hard to predict the winner but backing both teams to score at 11/10 looks to offer value given what has been happening in their recent games.
