Sociedad can stand firm

Real Sociedad are yet to lose at home this season, winning four, despite facing high-flying Mallorca, top-six chasing Athletic Bilbao and recent Champions League finalists Inter Milan at Estadio Municipal de Anoeta.

They clearly have no issues in welcoming strong sides to their patch and will be confident against Barcelona, despite their visitors’ unbeaten away record.

Barca may have avoided defeat on their travels but draws with Granada and Getafe do not capture the imagination and Sociedad could frustrate the Spanish champions once again, or even take all three points.

They have won their last three home games and another victory at Estadio Municipal de Anoeta could be on the cards against a side reeling from their El Clasico defeat last weekend.

Barca bouncing back looks unlikely

The last time these two sides met Sociedad ran out 2-1 winners and history may be about to repeat itself on Saturday.

Barcelona’s last four La Liga away matches have seen both sides find the net, so expect the visitors to net in Sociedad, even in defeat.

The hosts have kept clean sheets in their last two home matches, but the quality of Robert Lewandowski and Joao Felix is far greater than anything Mallorca or Bilbao possess, making a repeat of the 2-1 from last season look likely.
