- Reims have drawn each of their last four home matches in Ligue 1.
- Only Nantes (13) have drawn more Ligue 1 games than Reims (11) this season.
- The two sides shared the spoils when they last met in Rennes back in October.
Difficult to separate improving pair
Reims appear to be in a good run of form, as they have not tasted defeat in any of their last six Ligue 1 matches, a sequence that appears to have ended any doubts they may have had about getting dragged into a relegation battle.
David Guion’s side are certainly hard to beat, particularly on home soil, as they have drawn four consecutive matches on their own patch.
Indeed, only Nantes have drawn more Ligue 1 games this season than Reims’ total of 11, a tally that includes a 2-2 draw at Roazhon Park against Rennes back in October.
Rennes have changed managers since then and new boss Bruno Genesio has overseen back-to-back wins since losing his first match in charge against Marseille.
European qualification is once again a realistic option for Rennes, but they will have to improve their record on the road if they are to challenge on that front, as they have lost three of their previous four away games in Ligue 1.
Les Rennais also have a poor recent record against Reims, as they have not won any of the last five meetings between the two sides since Sunday’s hosts were promoted back to Ligue 1 in 2018.
Our prediction is for that run to continue on Sunday, although we are predicting a draw rather than a Reims victory, given the hosts have been draw specialists of late and Rennes are still enjoying the benefits of a new manager boost.
