Tip Reasoning

  • Rotherham have failed to score in five of their last six league matches.
  • Boro have netted just three goals across their last five Championship games and have failed to net in two of their last four away trips.
  • The hosts have lost seven of their last eight starts at the New York Stadium, while the visitors have lost their last four outings on the road.

Neither side fancied at the New York Stadium

As Yorkshire derbies go, this one looks a real stinker and neither side can be handed the vote for Wednesday’s action at the New York Stadium.

Rotherham are fighting for their lives at the wrong end of the table are clearly struggling to deal with their heavy fixture backlog. The Millers had to play three times last week and that told badly in consecutive 0-1 defeats here against Coventry City and Birmingham City.

Paul Warne’s men have now lost seven of their last eight home starts and are impossible to fancy this week based on that record and their current predicament, although Boro merit zero interest too after four straight away defeats and just one point collected from their last five league matches overall.

Under 2.5 is the selection instead with both teams in such poor goal scoring form. The Millers have failed to net in five of their last six fixtures, while Neil Warnock’s visitors have managed just three goals in their last five games and two in their last four on the road.

We don’t expect much quality up front in South Yorkshire this Wednesday night and we’re forecasting a goalless stalemate alongside our under 2.5 goals wager.
