Sheffield Wednesday go into this game in good form having won their last 3 matches to really put themselves in a strong position in the race for the play-offs. 3-0 wins against Nottingham Forest and Charlton were followed up with a big 1-0 win at Huddersfield on Saturday. They’ve moved above Derby and into 5th place but with Cardiff going well too they need to maintain their form as only 2 of those 3 sides can make the top six.

This game is certainly one were the Owls will be targeting 3 points. Blackburn’s form has been pretty mixed but they’ve picked up enough victories over the past couple of months to move themselves clear of trouble. They have lost 4 of their last 6 league games though and that includes a 2-1 home defeat to Preston on Saturday although they were reduced to 10 men at quite an early stage. Rovers are in 15th place, 9 clear of the drop-zone and could even move into the top half with victory here.

That looks unlikely though given how well Wednesday are playing. They’ve got over their little wobble which included a shock home loss to Rotherham and will be confident of picking up their 4th straight win here. That 1-0 loss to the Millers is the only loss in their last 18 matches at Hillsborough and they’ve won 7 of their last 10 at home so backing Sheffield Wednesday to win at Evens certainly appeals here especially given Blackburn have only scored 1 goal in their last 4 away games.
