Goals in short supply at Hillsborough

There may not be much excitement in Saturday’s Championship clash between Sheffield Wednesday and QPR at Hillsborough, with under 2.5 goals looking the best bet. Four of the last six meetings between these sides have had fewer than three goals.

The league table and form book both point towards the visitors. QPR are ninth, 14 places and six points above Sheffield Wednesday. The hosts have won one and lost four of their six games this season, while QPR have three wins and two defeats. The form lines are just as clear – the Owls have lost four of their last six Championship matches and it is now four games since they last won at home in the league, while Rangers beat Wrexham 3-1 two weeks ago and are going for a fourth successive win.

A 1-0 away win looks like a decent correct-score bet. Sheffield Wednesday have suffered three straight home defeats in the Championship and QPR were 1-0 winners against Stoke in their last league game.
