Slavia Prague vs Borussia Dortmund Predictions

Borussia Dortmund will make the journey to Prague for this Wednesday’s Champions League meeting with Slavia Prague. Lucien Favre’s side will be desperate to get 3 points on the board in a competitive Group F also containing Barcelona and Inter.

The hosts Slavia Prague will be determined to stop Dortmund from doing that. Slavia Prague are enjoying their first taste of the Champions League Group Stages in 12 years. They kicked off their campaign with an impressive display last time out vs Inter.

Slavia were on the verge of taking all 3 points home from the San Siro. A 92nd-minute equalizer prevented them from topping Group F after game week one. All 4 teams in this group drew their opening game. Everything is there for the taking in this group.

Despite the obvious difference in quality between Dortmund and Slavia, this will undoubtedly be a tough test for Dortmund. Slavia have been in great form at home this season. They are yet to concede a single goal at the Sinobo Stadium in all competitions.

Dortmund will surely be a bigger test for this home record than any of Slavia’s previous opponents. However, Dortmund haven’t been in the best of form up front in Europe lately. They have failed to score in 5 of their last 6 Champions League games.

There have also been under 2.5 goals scored in 5 of Dortmund’s last 6 Champions League games. Similarly, there have been under 2.5 goals scored in all of Slavia’s last 7 Champions League fixtures.

Given Dortmund’s recent attacking form in Europe, as well as Slavia’s defensive record this season, we feel that this game is likely to deliver under 2.5 goals.

Dortmund have drawn their last 3 games in all competitions. This includes some winnable Bundesliga games vs Eintracht Frankfurt and Werder Bremen. They have dropped all the way to eighth place in the Bundesliga due to their recent form.

We feel that this game could well be another Group F draw. Both of these teams tend to get at least one goal. There have been very few clean sheets kept against either of these sides in recent times. We feel that a 1-1 draw could be the result of this game.
