Spain vs Denmark Predictions
- Spain are unbeaten in 12 internationals, winning nine of those matches
- Denmark have lost six of their last seven meetings with Spain
- Both teams have scored in five of Spain’s last six matches
La Roja too hot to handle
Spain showed exactly why they were crowned European champions with their resounding 4-1 victory at Switzerland in their last Nations League game in September and they should be too much for Denmark to handle in Murcia.
The Danes currently sit atop of Group A4, having recorded 2-0 wins at home to Switzerland and Serbia in their opening two assignments, but Spain are a different calibre of opposition.
La Roja are now unbeaten in 12 international matches, which includes knockout victories at Euro 2024 against Germany, France and England, and their youthful squad are only going to get better under the guidance of manager Luis de la Fuente.
Spain are also the reigning Nations League champions, having secured the title with a penalty shootout success over Croatia in 2022–23, and Denmark still have a bit to prove after an underwhelming European Championships.
Inconsistent Danes may be overpowered
The Danes failed to win any of their four matches in Germany, being held to draws in all three group games with Slovenia, England and Serbia before losing 2-0 against the hosts in the knockout stages.
Morten Wieghorst has since been appointed as the new manager on an interim basis following Kasper Hjulmand’s departure, and Denmark have been vulnerable on their travels.
The visitors were beaten 2-0 away at Northern Ireland in European Championship qualifying last November while they also lost 3-2 in Kazakhstan and limped to a 2-1 success at minnows San Marino.
Having also lost six of their last seven meetings with Spain, it is tough to give them much of a squeak and La Roja can win comfortably.
The hosts can win by at least two goals and correct-score punters should plunge for a 3-1 Spain success given both teams have scored in five of their last six international matches.
