An absolute cracker takes place at Estadio de la Ceramica, rather than Miami as was originally planned, this Sunday as Villarreal host La Liga leaders Barcelona.

The Yellow Submarine have been flying as of late, going for their seventh league win in a row when they take on Hansi Flick’s side. They are eight points behind Barcelona but with two games in hand over these opponents so this will be a real test of if they can maintain the gallop set by the visitors and Real Madrid.

Back-to-back 2-0 wins over Osasuna and Guadalajara have made it eight wins from their last nine games for Barcelona, with an away Champions League defeat at Stamford Bridge the exception, and they are fancied to pick up the three points in this one.

Barca impossible to resist

However the home side are in such impressive league form that it is hard to back against them getting on the scoresheet, something that they have done in all but one of their 15 La Liga outings.

Both teams have scored in 14 of Barca’s last 18 games and a repeat of that is fancied in a victory for the table toppers.

Flick’s men have already won four games by a 3-1 scoreline this season and they could continue their impressive recent form by repeating the trick.
