West Ham United to Win

Reason for tip

Watford need to pick themselves up after a 5-1 Carabao Cup hammering by Peterborough and could come unstuck against West Ham, who found their groove in a 4-1 win at Southampton in the same competition.

West Ham United 3-1

Reason for tip

The Hammers have scored ten goals in their four matches this season and they should be able to cause the Hornets plenty of problems, so go for a 3-1 away victory.

Watford vs West Ham United Predictions

  • Watford have won just one of their last ten Championship matches.
  • Four of the Hornets’ last five league games have featured more than two goals.
  • There have been at least four goals in four of West Ham’s last six games.

Hornets need to pick themselves up

Watford’s Championship season got off to a great start when they claimed an opening 2-1 win over highly fancied Southampton but they have struggled since and may not be able to see their way past  West Ham on Saturday.

The Hornets drew at Wrexham, although the Welsh side created by far the better chances and they were then shellshocked by a 5-1 Carabao Cup defeat at home to League One Peterborough, so they plainly have work to do before what is arguably their toughest Vicarage Road assignment of the league season.

Cup win could be massive for Hammers

West Ham started the campaign as clear favourites to take the Championship title following relegation and they have experienced a few teething troubles.

They looked on course for an opening-weekend win at Burnley only to be pegged back by two late goals but that point was more than they earned in a poor display that resulted in a 2-1 home loss to Charlton the following week.

However, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side received just the shot in the arm they needed with a 4-1 win at Southampton in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday and they can build upon that by claiming their first league win of the season.

The Londoners are worth backing on the match market and, after scoring ten goals in their four games so far, a 3-1 away win is recommended to correct-score enthusiasts.
