Wealdstone vs Wycombe Wanderers Predictions
- Wycombe’s League One games average 3.4 goals-per-game.
- Wealdstone have scored eight goals across their last four at home.
- The Wanderers have scored two or more goals in seven of their last eight away.
Go for goals at Grosvenor Vale
League One leaders Wycombe Wanderers turn their attentions to the world’s oldest cup competition on Saturday as they head to fifth tier outfit Wealdstone.
The visitors are on a 10-game winning streak and should have a bit too much for their hosts, who saw off League Two side Grimsby in the previous round. However, as short price favourites the Chairboys hold little appeal and instead the goals markets stand out for value.
I’m taking a chance on over 3.5 goals here as Wycombe have been involved in some high-scoring games this season. Matt Bloomfield’s men have scored at least twice in seven of their last eight away games and have scored in 19 consecutive games across all competitions, while their league games average comfortably over three goals per-game (3.4).
Wealdstone have scored 19 goals in as many National League games but have been better in attack of late. The Stones have scored eight goals in total across their last four at home, while Wycombe conceded twice against non-league opponents York in the previous round so both teams may be able to contribute in this early kick off and combine for at least four goals in total.
Ultimately, Wycombe should have enough quality to avoid an upset and a 3-1 win for the visitors is the correct score prediction. The Chairboys have scored at least three goals in three of their last four trips, and have also conceded four goals in total in that period.
Finally, Richard Kone stands out as a potential anytime scorer. The young forward is Wycombe’s top scorer this season with nine goals and will be on penalty duties in Ruislip.
