Yeovil Town vs AFC Bournemouth Predictions
- There have been three or more goals in Yeovil’s last three games
- Bournemouth have kept just one clean sheet in their last five away matches
- The Glovers have netted in nine successive home fixtures
Yeovil out to cause an upset
Yeovil have been regular visitors to the FA Cup third round in recent years, but only twice since 2006 have they made it to the next stage.
In those years, they were a Football League side, but they have now fallen upon harder times and are currently in mid-table in the National League.
Darren Sarll’s side will still be confident of a giant-killing though, and their goal scoring prowess shows they will trouble Bournemouth, as they have scored in nine matches at Huish Park.
However, they do have defensive problems. The Glovers have lost their last two, both against Torquay, and they have kept just three clean sheets in their last ten home fixtures.
Bournemouth back in form
A few weeks ago, this game was looking like a real banana skin for Bournemouth as they went on a run of six games without a win.
However, victories over QPR and Cardiff appear to show they have turned the corner and they enter this fixture having scored in seven of their last eight games away from Dean Court.
There is a slight question over how strong a team Scott Parker will name as his focus is clearly on getting the Cherries back into the Premier League, but whatever side he picks should be good enough to win.
I think Yeovil will give Bournemouth a bit of a scare, but not enough to progress. I predict there will be three or more goals in the match, with Bournemouth getting a 3-1 victory.
