Girona can add to Getafe’s woes

Girona have the form and momentum to make Getafe’s trip back to Madrid a miserable one on Monday in this La Liga clash of clubs going in opposite directions. Michel’s men can probably move into the top half of the table with win at Estadi Montilivi, where they have won two of their last four games 1-0.

An improved defensive organisation has been the bedrock for their surge in the standings with Girona conceding only four goals in their past four matches. Getafe, meanwhile, have shipped eight in their last four contests and taken only one point from the quartet of clashes.

Jose Bordelas’ side are sliding down to the relegation positions and, although they can join Girona on 24 points with a win on Monday, it seems more likely that they will occupy a bottom- three spot soon.

Bordelas’ side have become too predictable

Bordelas’ pragmatic approach has drawn plenty of criticism in Spain over the last few years, but now it is really starting to look too predictable. Getafe have failed to score in four of their last six La Liga matches and could not accumulate an expected goals tally of more than 0.66 in their last three.

Back the home side to continue their climb up the table with a win and it may be worth having a small wager on a win to nil too. But the odds-against price in the match odds is good enough for us with a small recommendation for a 1-0 correct score play too.
