Reims set for success on Saturday

Reims should be backed to beat Saint-Etienne at home in Ligue 1 on Saturday. The visitors have lost their last two away games and Reims manager Samba Diawara will be looking to get a result against Eirik Horneland’s side.

Reims are 13th in Ligue 1, four places and six points above Saint-Etienne, but both teams have lost more games than they’ve won this season. Reims have eight wins and 15 defeats, while Saint-Etienne have seven wins and 19 losses.

Saint-Etienne could not break their losing habit last time, going down 3-1 to Monaco at home last weekend. The visitors were priced at 2/5 to win the game and Saint-Etienne scored with their only shot on target.

Reims have been solid at the back recently, keeping three clean sheets in their last four Ligue 1 outings.

Saint-Etienne are struggling for form right now, with four of their last six Ligue 1 matches ending in defeat. They have lost their last two games, most recently going down 3-1 to Monaco at home.

They have been disappointing in front of goal away from home this season, scoring just 13 goals in 16 games – an average of 0.81 goals a game on the road.

Saint-Etienne have been disappointing defensively away from home this season, conceding 44 goals in 16 road games – an average of 2.75 goals per game. No team has a worse defensive record in Ligue 1 this season.

Reims may be able to edge out Saint-Etienne in a 2-1 home win, with both teams scoring in nine of the visitors’ last 11 Ligue 1 games.
