Atalanta and Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Atalanta’s home record in exceptional. They have won their last eight matches at the Gewiss Satdium and that home advantage could give them the edge over Bologna, who have managed only two victories in their last 12 Serie A away games. However, the visitors have scored 14 goals in their last five matches, so back them to net in defeat.

Atalanta 3-1

Reason for tip

Atalanta, at their best, are masters at finding the net. They have scored three or more goals in six of their last eight home games and should have the ability to put a few past Bologna, who also look likely to find the net after seeing both sides score in eight of their last nine Serie A away games.

Atalanta vs Bologna Predictions

  • Atalanta have won their last eight home games
  • Bologna have scored 14 goals in their last five matches
  • Both teams have scored in eight of the visitors’ last nine Serie A away games

Atalanta to receive Bergamo boost

Atalanta’s ten-match unbeaten run was brought to an abrupt end on Wednesday as they suffered a 4-0 defeat to runaway league leaders Inter Milan. However, the Serie A table-toppers are a cut above everyone else in Italy this term and Gian Piero Gasperini’s side should fare better on Sunday.

Their home record has been exceptional of late – that loss to Inter came in Milan – as Atalanta have won their last eight home matches in a run that has included victories over AC Milan and Lazio.

They will have to return to their best if they are to beat Bologna, though, who have won five on the spin as they continue their ambitious hunt for a Champions League berth under the excellent management of Thiago Motta.

But Atalanta’s home record is so impressive that being back in Bergamo could be the boost they need to get the better of Motta’s men, who have struggled on their travels somewhat and have managed just two wins in their last 12 Serie A away games.

Back Bologna to bag in defeat

But while Bologna may not leave Bergamo with any points, they should at least find the net at the Gewiss Stadium.

They have scored 14 goals in their last five matches and clearly boast the attacking talent to hurt any side, having been responsible for two of the 12 league goals Inter Milan have conceded all season.

Both teams have scored in eight of Bologna’s last nine Serie A away games which suggests that, while they may not win have enough to better Atalanta, they should get on the scoresheet on Sunday.
