Draw

Reason for tip

No team in the Premier League has drawn more games than Bournemouth’s seven this season and they could be forced to settle for another stalemate when they visit Brentford, who have only lost one of their eight home games this season.

Draw 2-2

Reason for tip

Of Bournemouth’s seven draws this season, four have gone over 3.5 goals and this could well be a repeat thanks to their end-to-end approach to matches, side with a 2-2 stalemate in this Premier League clash.

Keane Lewis Potter To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Brentford forward Keane Lewis-Potter has stepped up to the mark in Dango Ouattara’s absence at the Africa Cup of Nations, scoring twice against Wolves last time out. The former Hull man can continue his fine form in this one.

Brentford vs AFC Bournemouth Predictions

  • Brentford are unbeaten in the last eight meetings between these two teams
  • Four of the last five head-to-heads have seen both teams score and gone over 2.5 goals
  • No team has drawn more games this season than Bournemouth’s seven

Cherries struggling

A 90th-minute equaliser for Burnley against Bournemouth at the weekend was symptomatic of the Cherries’ struggles to put games to bed and they will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing run when they visit Brentford on Saturday.

Andoni Iraola’s side have now gone eight games without a win and are at risk of squandering what was a good start to the season.

They currently sit 15th in the table and their main issues have been on the road, which was actually one of their strengths last season.

Bournemouth have only won one of their eight road trips and just Leeds, Wolves and Burnley have a worse record on their travels than the Cherries.

That is a concern against a Brentford side who have lost just one of their eight games on their own patch, winning five of those.

The Bees secured just a second away win of the season on Saturday, putting away a dismal Wolves team 2-0, but before that they had struggled.

Keith Andrews’ men had lost three of their last four games without scoring and were held to a 1-1 draw by Leeds in their last home clash.

Bees ticking along

Consolidation in the light of Thomas Frank’s departure will have been the goal for Brentford at the start of this season and they are doing that well enough, they currently sit 12th in what is an ultra-congested middle of the Premier League table.

The absence of record signing Dango Ouattara at the Africa Cup of Nations is not ideal but Keane Lewis-Potter stepped up with a brace against Wolves and will be key to the hosts’ efforts once more.

The contrasting home and away records of these two teams does make it tough to ignore Brentford’s advantage but it is hard to be too enthusiastic about their price given the obvious quality in Bournemouth’s team.

No team has drawn more games in the top flight this season than the visitors’ seven and another stalemate could be on the cards against a Brentford team who are so tough to beat on their own patch.

Four of Bournemouth’s seven draws this season have gone over 3.5 goals and a 2-2 stalemate makes plenty of appeal in this one considering Iraola’s at times chaotic style of play.

Lewis-Potter was involved in a number of chances before his two goals against Wolves last time out and he looks a decent bet to get on the scoresheet again.
