Croats to avenge March disappointment in Ljubljana

Croatia slumped to a disappointing 1-0 defeat in Ljubljana back in March, but Zlatko Dalic’s side can gain revenge in this week’s reverse tie in Split.

The Croats have bounced back extremely well since that loss to take ten points from a possible 12, and they currently sit level with Russia at the top of Group H after a crucial 0-1 success in Slovakia at the weekend.

Croatia are evidently coming towards the end of a golden cycle, but they still produced some magic at Euro 2020 and are clearly a class above the majority of this section.

They’ve not been beaten in a home World Cup Qualifier since losing to Belgium 1-2 in October 2013, winning seven and drawing two in that period. Slovenia have lost both of their away trips in the current campaign and their last five World Cup Qualifiers outside of Ljubljana.

Overall, Croatia look like banker material in Split this Tuesday against a poor Slovenian outfit and we’re also backing the hosts to secure the points via a 2-0 score-line.
