Sharks looking toothless after Simy exit confirmed

The timing looks right for Verona to clinch a league double over Crotone on Thursday and a repeat of January’s 2-1 scoreline looks to have as good chance.

Gli Squali were well beaten on Sunday by a Roma side coming off a Europa League exit as Serse Cosmi’s men failed to score for a second week in a row.

The Sharks’ have not registered on the scoresheet since Cosmi confirmed that 19-goal top scorer Simy was unlikely to stay and play in Serie B and the Nigerian could be one of several players with their focus elsewhere.

Victory for Verona, coupled with any result other than a Sampdoria win over Spezia on Wednesday, would see the visitors move to ninth – their finishing position in Serie A last season.

They may have only won five of their 17 Serie A away-days so far, but two of those have been within the last five trips so look worth a play to get another.

But build in some insurance by accepting the safety net the drawn no bet market offers in case the visitors finish as poorly as they did when losing 1-0 to Inter two and a half weeks ago.
