Can Montpellier pull off an upset?

Montpellier finally ended a run of three successive defeats by beating Auxerre 2-0 at the weekend, but their home form remains a major concern, losing six times in ten outings.

New manager Romain Pitau took charge in October and has been unable to arrest that run, suffering three in four matches at Stade de la Mosson, despite both teams netting on three occasions.

Indeed, a dozen of their 20 Ligue 1 games this season have seen both teams score, including a 5-2 drubbing in Paris against PSG back in August.

PSG struggling for form

A poor run since the World Cup of two wins from five matches, three of which have seen both teams score, means PSG have come back towards the chasing pack in the title race.

That means there’s a bit of pressure on Christophe Galtier’s side, but they still have the division’s best away record, picking up seven victories from ten matches.

Indeed, they have still only dropped points on five occasions, all of them to teams currently above Montpellier in the table.

I predict that PSG will win this game with both teams scoring, selecting 3-1 to the visitors as a correct score prediction.
