PSG To Win To Nil

Reason for tip

Montpellier have failed to win eight of their last nine home games and failed to score in three of them. They look likely to be outclassed by a PSG team that have won seven of their last nine away Ligue 1 contests, scoring two or more goals in each win.

PSG keen to wrap up the title

Paris Saint-Germain can push on towards another Ligue 1 title with an efficient win against struggling Montpellier at Stade de la Mosson on Sunday evening.

Les Parisiens will want to wrap up the domestic honour they have dominated for the last decade as quickly as possible so they can focus their full attention on winning the Champions League. Luis Enrique’s side have drawn their last three Ligue 1 games, however, so there will be an increased determination to get back to winning ways on their travels.

The Spanish coach has been chopping and changing a lot recently with even club icon Kylian Mbappe not immune to his rotation policy. PSG’s 21-goal top scorer was taken off at half-time in the 0-0 draw at Monaco and did not emerge form the bench until the 73rd minute of the 2-2 draw against Reims.

Mbappe could make Montpellier miserable

Assuming he is included from the start and not sulking, Mbappe will terrorise a defence that has conceded eight goals in Montpellier’s last three matches. Only four clubs in the division have worse home records than lesPailladins, who have failed to win eight of their last nine at home.

They have lost two and drawn two at home to other current top-six clubs but the gulf in class between PSG and the other five is so much that this should be a formality if their mentality is right.

A win to nil looks very possible given Montpellier have failed to score in three of their last nine at home and three of their four against top-six clubs while Mbappe should add to his impressive tally of league goals away from Parc des Princes, which currently stands at 13 strikes in 12 appearances.
