      Over 2.5 Match Goals

      Reason for tip

Roma’s clash with Monza should feature plenty of goals, with over 2.5 looking a strong bet. Roma’s 3-2 Europa League win over Porto highlighted their attacking threat, but defensive frailties remain. Monza have struggled on the road, losing their last five away games, making an open contest likely.

      Roma 2-1

      Reason for tip

A 2-1 Roma victory is the correct-score pick. While Roma are unbeaten in nine Serie A matches, they have conceded in five of their last seven home games. Monza have lost their last five away fixtures, with six of their league defeats this season coming by a 2-1 scoreline.

      Roma vs Monza Predictions

Roma continue to thrive as home favourites

Roma ran out 3-2 winners over Porto in the Europa League on Thursday night and backing over 2.5 goals could be the best bet when they host Monza at Stadio Olimpico on Monday.

Claudio Ranieri’s men went into the weekend in ninth place in Serie A, 11 places and 23 points above rock-bottom Monza, having won 10 and lost eight of their 25 games this season, while the visitors have just two wins so far.

The hosts, who advanced on Thursday via a 4-3 aggregate win over Porto, have won five of their last seven Serie A matches and nine of the last ten at home in which they were odds-on.

While the Wolves have gone nine Serie A matches without tasting defeat, their defence has shown signs of vulnerability – the hosts have failed to keep a clean sheet in five of their last seven home games in the league.

Given their tight European turnaround, Roma may have to settle for a narrow victory, with a 2-1 home win the correct-score pick. Monza’s last five Serie A road trips have ended in defeat and they have been 2-1 losers six times this season.
