Another tough afternoon for Lecce

Verona can be backed to win at home to Lecce in Serie A on Sunday. The visitors have lost three of their last four away games and are involved in a desperate scrap to avoid relegation.

Both teams have lost more games than they’ve won this season. Verona are 16th in Serie A with nine wins and 21 defeats, while Lecce are 17th with six wins and 20 losses. The hosts are one place and five points above Lecce, who are one point above the drop zone.

Lecce lost 1-0 to Napoli last weekend and could not break their losing habit. The result was no surprise, with Napoli priced at 1/2 to win the game.

The visitors are on a disappointing run. Lecce have failed to win any of their last five Serie A away games and have tasted defeat in six of their last seven on the road.

The visitors’ struggles at the back have been a major concern for Lecce this season. They have failed to keep a clean sheet in 17 of their last 20 games and have conceded 26 goals on the road in Serie A this term.

Five of the last seven Serie A meetings between these two sides have stayed under 2.5 goals, and a 2-0 home win for Verona looks like the best correct-score option.
