Saints’ shocking goal return

The statistics for St Johnstone are awful. They have failed to score in four successive matches and netted just once in their last seven games.

Indeed, Callum Davidson’s side are the lowest scorers in the SPL, finding the back of the net on only nine occasions in the 18 games. It is no wonder that they currently sit bottom of the table.

With their poor return in the final third, both teams scoring in one fixture has, as you would expect, been pretty rare. It has happened just once in their last seven games, while at least one side has kept a clean sheet in four of their last seven SPL clashes on home soil.

County searching for consistency

Ross County sit only a point above St Johnstone in the table, but it is their defence that is their biggest problem. The Staggies have conceded 32 times already in 18 outings, the second worst record in the SPL.

However, they have kept a couple of clean sheets on the road, while in their nine league games away from home, both teams have scored just four times.

Malky Mackay’s side have only won one of their last five, and you would expect they will be desperate to keep things tight in this one, so as not to fall into bottom spot.

I am therefore not expecting too many goals. I predict both teams will not score, with a correct score prediction of 0-0.
