Brest can deepen Metz’s problems

Brest can take the away win and add to Metz’s recent woes when they visit Stade Saint-Symphorien on Sunday. The hosts have gone five Ligue 1 home games without a win, losing four of their last five in front of their own fans.

Brest are 11th in Ligue 1, seven places and 17 points above rock-bottom Metz, with eight wins from their 23 games this season.

Metz could not break their losing habit last time, going down 3-0 to Paris Saint-Germain in their last Ligue 1 outing. The result was no surprise, with Paris Saint-Germain priced at 1/8 to win the game, and Metz failing to get a shot on target.

The visitors have been in an attacking mood lately, with Brest scoring at least twice in three of their last four Ligue 1 games. They have found the net in ten of their last 11 league matches.

Metz have not won in 11 Ligue 1 games, a run which includes nine defeats, and they come into this match on the back of two consecutive losses.

No team has conceded more in Ligue 1 this season than Metz’s 52 goals against in 23 games, and the home side look frail defensively. It’s proving hard for Metz to keep opponents out this season, with six clean sheets in their last eight home games.
