      Portsmouth to Win

      Reason for tip

Portsmouth have won back-to-back games against Middlesbrough and Ipswich without conceding and they could be too strong for a Leicester side who look devoid of confidence and heading for the drop.

      Portsmouth 2-0

      Reason for tip

Seven of Leicester’s last nine matches have gone under 2.5 goals and their struggles in front of goal have been evident recently, a 2-0 win for Portsmouth is fancied in what looks set to be a cagey affair at the bottom of the Championship.

      Portsmouth vs Leicester City Predictions

      • Portsmouth have taken eight points from their last four games
      • Leicester have only won four of their 21 away games
      • Seven of Leicester’s last nine games have gone under 2.5 goals

      Foxes staring down the barrel

Portsmouth and Leicester City face off in a crucial clash in the race to avoid Championship relegation on Saturday and it’s hard to have much faith in the Foxes given their recent plight.

Gary Rowett’s men have won just one of their last 17 matches in all competitions and are seemingly sleepwalking towards the third tier, ten years on from their shock Premier League title.

While there are still quality players in their squad, they appear devoid of confidence and the manner in which they conceded the only goal in their defeat to Swansea last weekend summed up their issues.

Leicester are five points from safety and may slip closer to the mire with defeat against a Portsmouth side who are riding high after a huge 2-0 win over promotion contenders Ipswich on Tuesday.

Pompey beat Middlesbrough 1-0 before that and their recent turnaround could continue against these struggling rivals.

      More misery predicted for Foxes

Back-to-back clean sheets against two of the best teams in the division is nothing to be sniffed at and they should also have key midfielder Ebou Adams back for this match.

With Leicester struggling badly as of late, a trip to Fratton Park will be the last thing that the Foxes wanted and they may suffer another defeat.

Seven of Leicester’s last nine games have gone under 2.5 goals and a 2-0 home win is the correct score pick.
